Bodyworks Health Clinic
March 2005

Dear Bob,

Hi again and I hope that this edition of the Bodyworks newsletter finds you well and that you all have a great Easter (if you want to lose a few pounds after all those chocolates I am sure that you are going to eat, you really ought to check out LIVING FUEL!).

We have some wonderful new members joining our team on both a permanent and visiting basis. Please read below to find out more and if you would like to book an appointment with them or simply find out more, please call.

Have a look at the various links below but this month, please also take time out to read about the new dance classes for kids that we are starting.

Until the next time.

in this issue
  • ESTELLE talks about dancing
  • PROFESSOR JOHN DAVIES - Rheumatology and Physical Medicine
  • IAN WINSPUR - Consultant Hand Surgeon
  • ALISON DYER - Sports and Injury Management Psychologist
  • SARAH WHEATLEY - Specialist in Post Mastectomy and Lymphoedema Treatment
  • DAVID PEROMINGO - Sports Injury Physiotherapist

  • PROFESSOR JOHN DAVIES - Rheumatology and Physical Medicine

As well as his many academic and clinical qualifications, Prof. Davies has also been the Honorary Medical Officer and Team Doctor to the Welsh Rugby Union. Given the WRU's current success, something that will not go amiss to the rugby fans out there!

IAN WINSPUR - Consultant Hand Surgeon

As well as being an eminent hand surgeon, Mr Winspur has also been the author of some leading clinical books most notably, The Musician's Hand.

ALISON DYER - Sports and Injury Management Psychologist

On the road to fitness or indeed greatness, psychology plays a major role. The top golfers all have their sports psychologist and many are now finding that pyschology helps in recovering from injury.

SARAH WHEATLEY - Specialist in Post Mastectomy and Lymphoedema Treatment

Sarah is an English trained physiotherapist and as well handling day to day physiotherapy treatments here at the clinic, she has also specialised in post mastectomy and lymphoedema.

If affected, this is an extremely important treatment and as the only other centre currently treating these patients is in Malaga, it is hugely beneficial to the area.

Why go through the trauma and discomfort of the drive to Malaga when you can get treated here?

If you know of anyone who may benefit from this service, please pass on this e-mail or have them contact us here at the clinic.

DAVID PEROMINGO - Sports Injury Physiotherapist

David is a bilingual (Spanish / English) Chartered Physiotherapist having studied and qualified in Aberdeen Scotland (so Bob says he can'be too bad!).

Prior to living and working in Spain, David worked in various hospital outpatient departments and in Sports Centres, laterally specialising in sports injuries.

David is a keen sportsman in his own right having been a qualified instructor in such diverse sports as; Physical Education, Swimming, Windsurfing, Skiing and Snowboarding.

    ESTELLE talks about dancing

As I am sure you are all by now aware, I am very keen on keeping the body active and moving but at what age should you start?

Very early is the answer as often what we start as children, we continue as adults. It might not be the same sport or the same activity but if we are active as children, we tend to be active as adults.

Where am I leading to ............ our new activity at Bodyworks which is DANCE FOR CHILDREN - taught by accredited professional teachers of the Margaret Howard Theatre Schools.

find out more about our dance classes........
