Colonic Hydrotherapy

What is Colonic Hydrotherapy?

Also known as colonic irrigation or colon cleansing, this painless process delicately cleans the inside of your colon with warm, filtered water to expunge any toxic residue or build up within your digestive system.

Why have a colonic?

If you are struggling with digestive issues like those related to IBS or food intolerances a colonic can help to maintain better gut health and bowel movements. Colonics can help reduce symptoms like bloating, wind, constipation and digestive pain.

Or perhaps you feel your gut and digestive health could use a “reboot” as part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle or making changes to your health. It can act as fast “detox” reducing the period of “cold turkey” often associated with significant changes in lifestyle.

For some it provides a feeling of general wellness and enhanced energy levels. For others it provides treatment and support for conditions that get lost in the “bucket” diagnosis of IBS.

Can I have a colonic?

Yes! Colonics are suitable for all kinds of people in the same way that a gym or exercise is suitable (and recommended!) for all. There are specific details that vary depending on your personal circumstances which you will discuss with your therapist.

However there are a few conditions that mean colonic hydrotherapy is not suitable for you at the moment and we will check these before beginning any treatment.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure Heart disease Liver disease
Severe haemorrhoids Severe anaemia Rectal bleeding
Fissures or fistulas Kidney failure / insuffiency Bowel or rectal cancer
Strangulated abdominal or inguinal hernias Colitis / Crohns disease GI haemorrhage / perforation
